I’m retiring from political blogging in order to focus on my new site, CoastalSussex.com.
It’s been a blast, and I’ve made some good friends, but it takes a lot of time, especially the back-and-forth with overgrown babies and unemployed socialists.
At the new site, my business partner, Merritt Burke, and I are aiming to capture the stories and memories of everyday people about the Delaware Beaches. So if you have a special story or memory, send it to me at dmburris -at- gmail.com
This site will remain up and maintained, and I’ll probably drop by and post from time to time. Thanks to the DP crew for keeping things going, and thanks to the guys at DL for providing the yin to our yang for these few years. You all do a great job, and J should be proud of what he’s done.

Boring? No way!!! I just checked it out, and will be checking it out regularly. Should be appealing to any Sussex Countian who wants to know what’s going on, and presented in a pleasing, well organized manner. I know of no other local sight quite like it. Best wishes with it, Dave, and to you personally whatever else you dive into.
Dave- Don’t leave you cannot imagine how entertaining it has been to watch the political bloodbaths go back and forth…..It is like watching an event at the coliseum in ancient Rome. Hopefully you will come back soon.

Dave , I’m sure not many here will thank you for giving me , first on FSP, and now here on DP a chance to voice my “Radical Right Wing ” belchings , but I certainly do.
I can only give you mad respect for not booting me off , because I ‘m sure some of my stances on the Republican Party that we both are members of, and which we both want to see move forward were and are in direct opposition to those of your own, and anyone who would label you as anything but fair and balanced need only look to the work you have done on this site and the dialogue you have allowed.
