Copeland Supports Citizens’ FOIA Request
Apr 28th, 2008 by Dave
Senate Minority Leader Charlie Copeland today announced his support for a recent request for information from Citizens for Clean Power concerning documentation and expenditures surrounding the recent Energy Committee hearings into wind power. The request is reprinted below.
“I fully support and have led this General Assembly on the issue of transparency in government,” said Copeland. “I believe that if tax dollars are involved, people have a right to know how those dollars were spent. I fully support the release of these documents.”
Charlie Copeland (R-West Farms) is a six-year veteran of the Delaware State Senate. He is currently a candidate for the office of Lieutenant Governor of Delaware. He lives in Wilmington with his wife, two children and four dogs. Sen. Copeland is the owner and president of Associates Graphic Services of Wilmington, a printing company.
Pat Gearity of Citizens for Clean Power responds:
Today, Sen. Charlie Copeland agreed with Citizens for Clean Power that Sen. McDowell should release all documents responsive to our request. I’ve requested that the documents be provided by May 2, 2008.
We’ve asked for documents that focus on the price of the McDowell hearings - money that was authorized by someone, payable to some persons, for some unknown services and costs, and paid in some unknown amounts. Taxpayers await the Committee’s response.
Thank you, Senator Copeland.
Pat Gearity, Citizens for Clean Power

timing is everything….is he running for office or something?
Fraud.
COME CLEAN COPELAND AND SHOCK THE WORLD!!
I’m sorry that your whole theory has been debunked, guys. You wanted a Republican to be tied into this and Copeland’s willingness to have all of these documents released proves that he has nothing to hide.
Whatever will you do?
